Kroiz gains a virtual monopoli in the illegal weapons and ships trade. He’s making billions of credits and using that money to build a fleet he hopes one day will be larger and stronger than any nation’s. With so many ships and pilots and marines, after the end of the war, putting together a fleet is not hard to do.

The player’s mission is to build a fleet even faster, and defeating him. The game style, during this time, would be unique: “First person RTS” :-)

Indeed, you’d manage your planets and corporations by talking to their leaders, who appear as fixers in the bars on your own planets. And you conduct (big) business transactions by flying to places and talking to people.

You’d manage fleets of cargo ships, as well, to transport product to and from a commercial space station in the Gray Zone. Inbetween the latter and other producers and consumers, it would probably be transportation through privateers hired through the mission computers. You’d be now placing the ads on them.

For the final showdown with Kroiz, I’m thinking you’d have a fleet command ship with a large holographic table showing the entire theater of operations, and you could control individual ships or groups, sort of like in Starcraft or Homeworld. You should have amassed several carriers and many destroyers, frigates and corvettes by then, as well as assault shuttles with ship-boarding troopers. Otherwise you’d probably lose the battle and the game.

This friend of mine was talking to me about some document drafted back in 97 or 98, signed by Rumsfell and Chany and all those guys that said that the us had now the power to move forward and conquer strategic locations and take ctrl of resources like the caspian crude, but that unfortunately the public was not ready to support military adventures, so the only way to move ahead was to have a new pearl harbor, and then 9:11 was concocted. A lot of fabrication, like the plane that went down somewhere, apparently there was nothing left of it, except a hole in the ground; and the one that supposedly hit the pentagono did so a bit too accurately, like it left a small hole where it hit the building, never even scratched the floor, there were no traces of the jet engines, and any cameras within a mile of the place got their films or tapes removed. The buildings that were hit in nyny, the floors went down at almost exactly 1 G of acceleration, which would be the case only if there was hardly any resistance going down, and there were explosions going along ahead of the collapsing floors; meaning, it was a by the book demolition job. Then there was another building that came down a few hours later. First they said it collapsed. Then they said it had been set in fire by debris falling out of another building, and that it was made to come down because it was a hazard. Funny thing is, that’s usually done after some kind of expert evaluation, and most buildings aren’t designed to collapse from a fire. Then a couple of days later another plane goes down in queens. Supposedly an engine caught fire or something. Weird thing is, one engine went down on top of a barge in the river. Another ended up at a gas station. And the rest of the craft somewhere else yet. Not sure aviation fuel could explode with so much force as to cause the engines to become detached from the wings. To me that was two missiles that were fired at it, one hitting each engine, and obviously from a military craft. AAMRAMS maybe? Or maybe the new image recognition ones could be locked onto each individual engine? Anyhow, there was a head of intelligence in pakiland that got fired after the indians made it public he’d asked the administration for 100,000 credits for one of the organizers of the show. And bushy’s brother was in charge of security of one of towers until the 10th of september... day before he quits... And there was a historic peak of put to call ratio in the stock market in the days leading to the show, too. Anyhow, what I suggested to my friend is we could use a lot of that material for Privateer 3. We could even come up with a naming system that uses alphabetic substitutions; or better yet, phonetic substitutions, and re-tell the whole story. Like the belisarius group could be the order of whathamacallit orientalis, and y-12 could bi the CI8, and kayda could be the retros, the ruskies and indians could be the kilrathi, and so on; so the belisarius group decide they need a new pearly harbor so they have the retros fly a couple of caernavens into a commercial space station in sol, and then confeds decide to attack the fariss and williams quadrants; –something of the sort. And then Conspiracy Publishers come up with stories that it was Pilgrim infiltrators in the Confed that planned it all.
