BURROWS ARRIVES IN KILRAH, FOLLOWING THE KIS VORGATH IN HIS CLOAKED EXCALIBUR.
Kal Shintahr Jhorrad leaves the KIS Vorgath in a shuttle.... enters the Imperial Palace and at the same time another shuttle is leaving the Imperial Palace; the second one carrying Melek. KSJ enters the Imperial Room and addresses Thrakhath:
KSJ: “Lord Prince, Terrans and Mantu have made an alliance.
Prince Trakath asks what happened.
KSJ relates the story. Trakath asks how is he sure they were Mantu. Couldn’t they have been terran ships disguised as mantu ships?
KSJ says the visuals of the ships matched the images of Mantu ships from the database, which humans have no access to, plus one of the ships had the power to cloak, which terrans don’t possess.
Thrakhath tells him that Melek was just in to announce they’ve seen terran fighters and that they escaped by cloaking; here in Kilrah; one of them piloted by Hart of the Tiger.
KSG asks, what about knowledge of what Mantu ships look like, and their coming from the east.
Thrakhath says knowledge could come from a traitor leaking it, and reminds him that a Terran escort carrier was lost track of in Hari territory 6 months earlier. Then asks KSJ how did their ships move when they formed?
KSJ says they turn to the right, then to the left and stopped.
Thrakhath says that Mantu ships would most often move sideways; occasionally turning at once; and they used no torpedos; each fighter had just a single powerful beam.
KSJ growls and contorts in anger. Screams that those cowardly trickster apes have no honor and no real fight left, only smoke and mirrors. Then he says those ships in Kilrah are probably here to try and pull some other trick and bluff, and starts walking away saying their lies won’t work with him anymore; that now he’ll shoot first.
Thrakhath says “Just don’t kill Heart of the Tiger; that shall be MY honor.”
KSJ is arriving back to the KIS Vorgath. Even before he arrives, he radios the crew to start moving towards the other side of Kilrah, where he says terran fighters have just been spotted, and that the Mantu ships were a forgery; –terrans have acquired cloaking technology.
Control returns to the player. If the player goes to flies towards the other side of Kilrah, he’ll first see a couple of blue dots near the surface of Kilrah, then only one blue dot, then the temblor bomb explodes...
Another cinematic aboard the KIS Karga, KSJ growling and screaming about the way they were tricked by the Terrans using Mantu skins for their ships, and about “the apes having nothing whatsoever they can throw at the mighty kilrathi, and resorting to the most dishonest and dishonorable bluffs”, then the SO announces a huge explosion on the surface of Kilrah. KSJ screams and contorts in anger, orders full spead towards Earth.
Then a message comes in from Melek. He has assumed command and sued for peace.
KSJ falls to the floor having like fits or epileptic convulsions.
Control returns to the player, again. The last blue dot is not there any more... but as Kilrah continues to explode, if he heads towards a jump point leading back to Confed space, he’ll detect an eject capsule on his radar that reads “Todd Marshall”. If he tractors Maniac into his hold, Maniac manages to come from the cargo hold to the cockpit and be back-seat pilot, telling Burrows which way to go to reach the TCS Victory.
First he asks Burrows to search for an eject capsule, in case Blair might have ejected, but none shows up.
The TCS Victory see Burrows’ ship as an alien, unidentified ship, as his transponder was removed by Lexington technicians. The player can identify himself and request permission to land. Later, on the TCS Victory, he’ll have a chance to meet with and talk to Blair. If the Commander asks what was he doing there, he can say that the mission was top secret and he’s therefore not allowed to speak about it to other commanders. There’s a lot of rejoicing when Maniac recounts the success of the mission, but a lot of hurt about the loss of Blair. When Blair is brought in aboard a Kilrathi ship there’s celebrations. The standing ovasion will be for Blair, and Burrows will just watch it from the sidelines. Un-sung hero, as usual.
